Three easy places to start

Choose by the space you've got. All three sit on the ground.

The Max 1260W has more than 960W of panels, so have a professional check your electrics before you plug it in.

Three more, for walls or squarer spaces

Hybrid stands work on the ground, or on a solid house wall after a professional assessment.

The Plus 1030W has more than 960W of panels, so have a professional check your electrics before you plug it in.

Set-up help included

Once kits are on sale, every kit comes with a set-up call by phone or video. We'll go through the box with you, help with the stand and stay on while you register it.

About set-up calls

Before you order

Every kit needs the same few things.

  • A sunny, level spot big enough for the kit (the space is on each card).
  • A weatherproof outdoor socket within 4m, and modern RCD protection in your fuse box. An electrician can fit or check these if needed.
  • Written permission first if you rent or own leasehold, and a quick word with your home insurer.
  • Free registration at myplugin.solar before you switch on.
  • One kit per household, never used with a home battery, in England, Scotland or Wales.

Questions about the kits

Which kit should I choose?

Start with your space. The Compact 460W needs about 1.9m by 1.2m, the Duo 890W about 3.7m by 1.2m and the Max 1260W about 5.0m by 1.2m. Bigger kits make more power over the day.

Are prices set yet?

Not yet. Every kit shows Price TBC while we agree prices with the maker. Join the list on any kit page and we'll email you when it goes on sale.

Can I use a kit on a balcony?

No. These kits aren't for balconies. Ground kits stay on the ground, and hybrid kits go on the ground or, after a professional assessment, a solid house wall.

Will a kit power my home in a power cut?

No. Like every plug-in kit, it switches itself off when the grid goes down, for safety.
